Anthony, the jig is just a board with a cradle part that simulates the bridge. Clamping the neck to the board and resting the body on the cradle automaticly gives you the right angle. You then glue and drill for the dowels when the instrument is in the jig. It is very straight forward, but probably not that easy to visualize by my descripion. Sorry I don't have a picture handy.

Thanks Arnt, Anthony and Mario, i just came back from the shop, been finishing the neck contour , the headstock and the fretboard templates, i'm gonna be working on the arching templates after dinner(supper here )

Arnt, i will follow that advice as well, i have a bit of a hard time visualizing all of this since i'm home now and have no plans here but i'm sure i will understand better when i get back to the shop, have a safe trip home bud!

Thanks for the great tutorial thread on F-Holes routing Anthony, great stuff that can be applied to mando building as well!

Thanks for posting the tubing tip Mario, sounds interesting and easy, for the fret wire, what i meant was that the one i bought looked pretty thick compared to what i'm used to see on mandolins so i guess it should look similar as yours then, Thanks again!

Serge
